Time for them to fly!

Ambelink chick on Friday April 6th.

The same Amberlink chick on Wednesday April 24th.

All of my chicks start off in a brooder and when they turn 2-3 weeks old I move them to a larger cage with a covered top until they are able to go in with the rest of the flock.  This is my last batch of babies for this season, and I guess I lost track of how quickly they were growing.  (Chickens grow faster than any animal I have ever seen!)  This morning when I was out feeding, I turned around there sat one of the little Amberlinks on the edge of the brooder waiting for her breakfast.  Note to self: It is time to move this batch of babies to the next sized cage!

  1. I'm glad I'm not the only one with little escapees! They are so cute sitting on the edge, until they figure out they can jump down and run around the hallway! LOL
